We often want people to accept us as we are but when it comes to accepting others as they are, we tend to be somewhat critical.
A few weeks ago while having a conversation with God, God instructed me to accept someone. I didn’t understand the point of that instruction, at the time.
Further down the line, a month or so later and upon reflection I realized the gravity of this situation. Accepting someone as they are means accepting all of their flaws and even the parts that we tend to dislike. At the time I wanted to just run away because I was subjected to all kinds of uncouth behavior but what this acceptance has done, was allow the person to be themselves and know that regardless thereof, they are loved and accepted.
Is that not what we desire, for us to be accepted for all of who we are and still have our people around us to love and show up for us? When we accept people for who they are, we allow room for potential growth to take place, we also make room for tolerance and empathy to be perfected in ourselves.
Acceptance allows change to occur, for it is only when we are able to accept something for what it is that we free ourselves up to move forward…
All my love
