Charlie’s Favorite things

September is my favorite month of the year. Not only is it my son and my dad’s birthday, which means we can eat cake twice in one month but my family usually takes a break and goes on holiday during September.

This month my favorite things are made up of 3 items I am dying for at the moment.

  1. Chocolate cake is something I cannot resist. Some of the best chocolate cake in Swakopmund is at Trust Cafe at Platz am Meer, their coffee is equally as good. Taste Coffee shop at the Dome sells a chocolate cheesecake that is so incredibly good. Trust me, you will go back for more and more. However, a new coffee shop called Showroom Eatery opened in town next to FNB and I got a birthday cake for my dad from Vanessa. Boy was it good. The cake was well baked and stacked high, the icing was creamy and she put caramel under the icing! Is that not heaven? Do give the coffee shop a try, you won’t regret it.
  2. At Early Bird Slowtown Coffee caravan in Swakopmund they sell freshly baked croissants filled with nutella, mince and cheese, ciabattas with various fillings and many other lovely delights to fill your tummy early in the morning. They open at 6am.
  3. Apple Mint Tea by Carmien. This specific one is a cold brew and is available at health shops and some selected ones that sell the Carmien brand. I bought this one when I was in Cape Town recently.
