Get some crab meat, pre-made wonton wrappers (Happy Belly brand is available in superstores in the frozen section) and make some of theeeese!!!!
This simple starter comes together effortlessly, and is enjoyed in the same way! The creamy crab mixture and chili soy sauce are a great combo – don’t knock it until you try it.
4 cups of crabmeat (de-shelled and finely chopped)
1 tbsp Smoked Paprika
2 sprigs of chopped spring onion
Half a cup of cream cheese (I use smoked salmon flavour)
Salt & Pepper
Wonton wrappers or Dumpling wrappers
A bushel of chopped Coriander
Half a cup of Soy sauce
Splash of fish sauce sweetened with sugar
Finely chopped Garlic
Mix all your ingredients. Pop teaspoonsful in the middle of a wonton wrapper. Moisten the sides with water. Gather the sides like tiny purses.
If you prefer them fried, heat up some sesame oil. Once the oil is hot, deep fry your wontons for 6-7 minutes until crispy and golden brown. If you have a bamboo steamer and would like them steamed, steam them for 10 minutes.
Combine the sauces, garlic and chillies. Garnish your wontons with coriander and sesame seed.
