With December just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about how to make the most of this joyous season if you will be homebound. If you like me and December is the busiest season for your business, the holidays are a time when you work, work, work. You have to fit in some fun time somewhere.

Don’t worry, I’ve got your back! I want to share some awesome tips and ideas to plan your December holidays.

Let’s dive in!

1. Embrace the Art of DIY Decorations:
Who needs expensive store-bought decorations when you can create your own magical holiday atmosphere? Gather some crafting supplies and get creative with your family! From paper snowflakes to homemade ornaments, countless DIY decoration ideas are available online. Not only will you save money, but you’ll also add a personal touch to your holiday decor and it will keep your kids occupied during the holidays. Or at least for the beginning thereof.

2. Host a Holiday dinner with your friends:
Holiday feasts are an essential part of the season, but hosting a full-blown dinner party can put a strain on your finances. Instead, organize a festive dinner with friends and family. My friends and I like to call it our Christmas dinner. Assign different dishes to each guest, ensuring a variety of tasty treats without the burden of shouldering all the costs. It’s a win-win situation that brings everyone together!

3. Explore Local Holiday Events:
Don’t underestimate the charm of your local community during the holiday season. Check out nearby tree-lighting ceremonies, or holiday markets. Not only will you get to indulge in the festive spirit, but you’ll also support local businesses and artisans.

4. Movie Marathon Magic:
There’s something truly magical about snuggling up with loved ones and watching classic holiday movies. Instead of going to the theatre, organize a cosy movie night at home. Whip up some popcorn, and hot chocolate, and enjoy a marathon of your favourite holiday films. It’s an activity that guarantees warmth, laughter, and cherished memories.

5. Gift-Giving with a Twist:
Gift-giving is a wonderful tradition, but it doesn’t have to break the bank. Consider drawing names for a Secret Santa exchange, and setting a budget limit for each gift. Alternatively, you can opt for heartfelt homemade gifts, such as baked goods, personalized photo albums, or handmade crafts. Remember, it’s the thought that counts!

6. Embrace the Great Outdoors:
Mother Nature offers her own special brand of holiday magic, and it’s usually free! Bundle up, gather your loved ones, and explore local parks, the beach and events being hosted.  Spending time outdoors not only keeps you active but also allows you to appreciate the beauty of the season with your loved ones.

Remember, the true essence of the holiday season lies in the joy of togetherness, gratitude, and love. By embracing these simple and affordable ideas, you can create unforgettable memories even if it means you have to go to work the next day. So, let’s make this December a month of magic, laughter, and unforgettable moments, regardless of your work circumstances.

Enjoy!
