How do you measure growth? I have been so hard on myself for as long as I can remember that God always gets me to STOP!
Stop to pause and reflect. I have learned to do this on a regular basis just to keep myself in check, and it actually allows me to be more present in my day-to-day life.
For so many years, the things I have been able to accomplish in the last two years have just been dreams and ideas, but in the last two years, I have been able to break ground and have tangible evidence of what I was able to accomplish and make my dreams a reality.
Just recently, I had a conversation with a dear friend of mine, Colleen. We spoke about how when you come to a place of maturity, all you really desire is contentment, the simple things in life—not chasing anything or going from one project to another, but being right where you are supposed to be, being present, and enjoying that season.
Growth takes place when we can reflect on where we were and are now. Have things changed? What has changed? Are you the same as yesterday, last week, last month, or last year?
When we honestly reflect on how we have grown, we will surely surprise ourselves, and the humility we experience in that moment is priceless.
Growth takes time and patience, and somehow, I have learned; while I seem to think I have not grown, God has a way to open my eyes to see just how far I have come and how much I have grown and it’s almost like I can hear Him say: “ I am proud of you, keep going.”
Take a moment to reflect on your life journey and see how far you have come. Then tell yourself, “I am proud of you; keep going!”
All my love,
Zen
