Segura Emporium was born in 2020, I know I can’t believe it either. As an activist I believe that if you want things to change, you need to change them yourself. The beauty and fashion industry is in dire need of a wake-up call and I finally decided to pick up the phone.
As consumers we need to be conscious of our power to accept or change the world we live in and we hardly realize this. Every time you spend money, you cast a vote for the type of world you support. Segura is a Spanish word that means ‘safe’ and ‘secure’. There have been many times that I’ve shopped in outlets where I felt misguided and misinformed because it was driven by commission and not my best interests. I felt unsafe and insecure.
I recognized the necessity for an online platform during the life-altering lockdown of 2020. I came to realize how frustrated I was with the fashion and beauty industry and how absolutely vulnerable it made me feel. It was at that moment that I realised I have the obligation, skills and passion to equip individuals with the right tools and knowledge to feel confident and look sexy, regardless of their age, size, sex, ethnic background or monetary status. At that moment Segura was born. Segura has been delicately designed and sculpted to provide individuals with a platform to discover their true self and embrace their worth. Clothing and accessories can be used to “color-in” or simply unveil who you are and what you stand for. At Segura shoppers can choose between individual shopping or professional assistance, all in the comfort of their home.
You (insert name here) are strong, confident, beautiful, brave, valuable, worthy, loved and irreplaceable. If for any reason you have not been experiencing this lately, then take my hand. Segura Emporium is here to embark on this journey with you by providing you with practical tools, stunning materials and professional assistance to be the best version of yourself. Segura Emporium went from an online store to a pop-up shop then we became a home based business but after a few months we became a shop within business park and then Segura became a retail outlet in Maerua Mall. From birth to retail outlet was 12 months, I’m still speechless. I poured my heart and soul into Segura from day one and by this I mean there were many tears and sleepless nights.
At age 25 & 26 – I turned 26 in February 2022.
Throughout the years I had learned to live with the virus but I knew something was wrong. I was recommended to visit a Homeopathic Practice in Swakopmund and so I did, one of the best decisions I have made to date. According to the Medical Medium series the virus attacks a set of organs and after a while it migrates to a new set of organs and leaves behind a set of exo-skeletons that continues to emit toxicity. The virus began attacking my Adrenal Glands that meant that my cortisol levels became very high, I gained weight, and I was very emotional and irritable. My body could only respond in fight or flight, thinking and processing information became a luxury. After a few months and most recently I experienced a Neurological attack. As a creative individual I had a wild imagination and all of the sudden I could not access it, my brain became blank. I experience severe brain fog and memory loss and I am currently on 32 pills a day. I get drip once a week and I get blood treatments every few months or whenever I am in Swakopmund.
There’s a lot of things that happened in the last couple of years that left me breathless and not in an awe-inspiring way. It was heart-ache after heart-ache, disappointments and failures and the only reason why I am reiterating on those facts is because I never want anyone to look at me and say, “Look at what she has. She’s lucky.” I want you to know that it has been blood sweat and tears but when I look back, I have not regretted one moment. My husband, my family and my friends have been strong pillars throughout these difficult times. I have no idea where I would have been if it wasn’t for them and faith.
To the Mom’s & Dad’s reading this:
My parents blessed me, they told me that I am favored and that I will be successful. From a very young age they equipped me with various tools. They took the time to teach me, when I did not understand something they allowed me to vent and they then communicated with me, they helped me understand. Most importantly they believed in me, there were times that things just did not seem possible but they never made me feel like I couldn’t do it, they allowed me to follow my dreams and make my own mistakes. They paved the way for me and not with money, they gave me their time and shared their wisdom. I am who I am and where I am because of them. Invest in your children, money is temporary.
To the Entrepreneurs and Women out there:
– Stop overthinking
– Make time for yourself, you need to fill your cup
– Stop hustling, you weren’t born to pay bills and die, work hard but don’t lose yourself along the way
– Create the life you want to live
– Boundaries are important, learn how and when to say no
– If something in your body feels wrong then it is, listen to your gut
– Always be kind, you have no idea what someone is going through
– Surround yourself with the right people
I am currently working through the Medical Medium series by Anthony William and it has helped me a lot, I can definitely recommend his books. I believe that anything is possible and that my businesses, Segura Emporium and Viver Fragrancia Distribution, will continue to grow and expand. I like nice things but I am not doing what I do to make money, I am working as hard as I am because I want to make a difference. When something feels impossible I always say, “If Jesus can be birthed by The Virgin Mary then anything is possible.”
Life happens and it’s not all sunshine and rainbows but don’t allow these circumstances to take over your life. If you need to start over then do it, it’s never too late to start over.
(Insert name here) your dreams are valid.
