If I could do a wheel pose with broken and dislodged vertebrae, and damaged cartilage discs and nerves, you can move your body in some way or another for half an hour every day two points I’d like to make:

1. Never take your able body for granted, and do everything you can to achieve optimal health and well-being. Your body is literally what keeps you alive.

2. The mind is the most powerful tool, use it to your advantage. You can withstand almost anything, and it all starts with your thoughts.

This photo was taken at the end of 2017 (hence the poor quality lol). On the plane flying to Mauritius (and long before that), I was experiencing severe back and nerve pain and numbness in my leg. I knew I had a back injury, I lived with it since I was 11 years old, but I always thought I just had a slipped disk and a pinched nerve. It was only once I started losing bladder and bowel control, and couldn’t walk properly anymore, that I went for proper scans and ended up having to go for spinal surgery as soon as possible (about a month after this photo was taken).

Practice gratitude, find a physical activity that brings you joy, and stop making excuses 🤎
