If you’re feeling like sushi but don’t mind fusion or sticking to the rules, I definitely recommend this sushi bake! It’s like lasagna, but with sushi ingredients. Give it a spin of your own and you’ll have a fun staple recipe for life.
Ingredients:
2 cups of unshelled Prawns, blanched
2 cups of Crab meat, cooked
2 cups Japanese Kewpie Mayonnaise
1 cup cream cheese
1 tbsp Japanese Seven Spice
Soy sauce to taste
Sriracha to taste
3 cups of cooked Sushi Rice
2 tbsp Rice vinegar
Nori sheets
To serve:
Black sesame seed to garnish
2 sprigs of Spring Onion, sliced, to garnish
Ripe Avocado, sliced
Method:
Preheat the oven on 160 degrees C.
Mix the rice with the vinegar. Combine the cream cheese and mayonnaise, and once well combined, chop the prawns and crab meat and add to the mayonnaise mixture. Add the seven spice, soy sauce and sriracha.
Layer the rice, alternating with a sheet of nori and the seafood mixture until you have 2 layers of each, ending up with a seafood layer on top.
Bake for 15 minutes, and grill for 5 minutes thereafter. Add all the garnishes with extra sriracha and mayonnaise on top and enjoy with loved ones!
